In Japan, rice is staple food but bread is very popular too.
Many Japanese eat bread for breakfast. Every convenience stores have a bread section.
The bread was added a Japanese touch. I will introduce some Japan bread to you.
Melon-pan
The bread which is covered the top with something like a cookie.
There is no melon in the bread. I don’t know why its name is melon-pan. It’s called “sunrise” in Kansai area (western Japan).
It is sweet and crispy. Japanese like the cookie. So there is product using that part, its name is “peel of melon”.
There are bakeries specializing in melon-pan.
Curry bread
Bread with curry in. Most curry bread is fried.
So it is crispy on the outside and delicious curry inside.
You can buy it at every bakery.
Sweet red bean bun ( Ann-pan )
Bread with sweetened red bean paste in. Very Japanese bread.
There are also ann-pan with Anko and butter in. The combination of red bean and butter is the best.
